Community Meetings in Manchester - 14-15 July 2022

On 14 – 15 July, Forward Thinking visited community representatives in Manchester.Meetings provided an opportunity to connect with local community leaders and to discuss challenges that Muslim communities in the North West currently face. Islamophobia and racism at the local, national and international level is a key concern for communities. The importance of engaging with young Muslims who face unique challenges was also underlined. Community leaders are working to respond to issues relating to employment and inclusion for young people, many of whom report feeling unable to express their faith in professional settings.
