WSF Meeting- Islamophobia and Far-Right Extremism in Europe, 15 August 2024

WSF

On 15 August 2024, the Women for a Sustainable Future (WSF) network convened online to respond to recent violent anti-immigration riots in the UK, which have particularly targeted Muslim communities, and to discuss the rise of far-right extremism in Europe. The purpose of the meeting was to develop cooperation between regional and European WSF members to address these challenges.

Discussions were led by Yasmin Qureshi, a Member of Parliament in the UK, and Eva Lindh, a Member of the Riksdag in Sweden. The meeting was attended by representatives, parliamentarians and senior diplomats from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, and the UK.
